PiratePalooza™ Tickets

For the 10th Anniversary of PiratePalooza™ Captain Drew haphazardly handed out souvenir tickets to his event, even though it was free. NOTE: The ticket shown here entitled the bearer to one (1) free photo opportunity with Roger Wade Riddle or a lap ride from Israel Hands, if they were able to find either one of those dozey blighters and convince them of the legitimacy of this Internet guarantee. PiratePalooza™ was not responsible for any consequences from physical interaction with ANY pirate in attendance, particularly the two aforementioned scalawags.2

The Pirate Scenario

We're going to do "The Scenario" again this year! It's an idea pilfered from our friends over at The Georgia Renaissance Festical and it was a LOT of fun last year! The Pirate Scenario adds a plot to our pubcrawl, heightening the fun and adding a bit of theatre to the already popular event. At each stop along the way there will be brief interludes in which our performers will provide clues and directions. The 2013 Pirate Scenario will find Captain Drew in need of a good crew to help him on his search for Captain Flint's lost treasure map... say "yes" and join the adventure!!

The Palooza Bands

These be bands what have played with us in the past, and may play with us again, listed in an alphabetized order

Curvy & Scurvy & Pervy

Captain Scurvy Pete leads his crew of The Heaving Bosom, pillaging the eight seas with his razor sharp wit, explosive personal emissions, and a outlandish fear of citrus. He is often seen accompanied by his trusty cabin boy, with whom he has an inexplicable attraction to, named Curvy. When Captain Drew asked them to add their sea shanties to the entertainments of PiratePalooza™, Curvy brokered an agreement to have all access passes for the entire Palooza season as well as Lifetime Membership into the famed Cardboard*Con.

Half Pint

Celebrating more than 10 years as musical sisters, Ariana Pellayle and Rosemary Quench (sans a very tipsy Wicked Pete Speakeasy) will bid you to "Drink Hail!" once more as they return to PiratePalooza™ in a special engagement as 'Half Pint', two-thirds of the group Three Quarter Ale. Be prepared for some high energy wench action!

Bourne of a friendship forged by wind and wave, the duo known as Landloch'd evokes the craggy grandeur of the Scottish highlands and the rolling mysteries of the deep blue seas. Edward the Redbeard, a Scotsman, was forced to flee his native land after an "incident" with a rogue bagpiper who just happened to be the King's nephew. His partner in song, Esteban Diego de Castile, is a Spanish Moor who left for the high seas to escape religious persecution by the Inquisitor Queen, Isabella.[Facebook]

Linen Brocade

Get ready for a time-bending appearance by the Renaissance Faire supergroup Linen Brocade, featuring Ariana Pellayle from Three Quarter Ale, Tom Smiter of the Lost Boys, and Adam Dandy the Highwayman from the 1980s. Be there to see them stand and deliver!

Pogue Mahone

What happens when you mix 8 types of rum with Israel Hands and Willam Foley? The whackiest sea shanties on the high seas! Tag along with these lads to hear songs like "The Anchor Done Sank" and "Did You Steal Me Rum, Harvey?" and "Seriously Harvey, Did You Take My Rum??". Pogue Mahone means "Up with Grog" in some languages.

Tenpenny Travelers

The Tenpenny Travelers have become popular regulars with the Palooza fans and we all look forward to their sprightly harmonies and songs of the sea! We’re happy to announce that the Travelers (Mike Quigley, Ariel Stewart, Tara Maurer, Meredith “Merry” Peterson, and maybe more!) are planning to join us again this year!

Toucan Dubh

Toucan Dubh is made up of Julia Campbell, Ian O'Donnell and Linda Hoopes. Each talented musicians in their own right, Ian, Julia & Linda team up to bring a zeal and flavor to their performances that will leave you wanting more.

Wine Woman & Song

Known for its time-honed harmonies and its deep & varied library of music of the British Isles, Wine Woman & Song is comprised of Concord Grapellwyn ("wine"), Naughty Nellie Peachbottom ("woman"), and Renwick Sangster ("song"). You’ll have a rollicking bloody fantastic time singing along with these classic minstrels!

The PiratePalooza™ Pubsing

It's what we've waited for all year; a chance to howl and sing and drink and trade tales of buried treasure, indiscreet encounters and all the thrills of a pirate's life! Treasure, indeed!

We're searching for our final destination!

Palooza History

How it came to be

Dreamed of by Captain Drew, greatly and fabulously abetted, planned and engineered by Fiona Leonard, Geoffrey Brown and Tracy Wilson, the very first PiratePalooza™ Pubcrawl transpired on Septembarrrr 17, 2005, netting nearly 100 patrons, both pirate and lubbers. Still remembered by what some calls an "impossible confluence" of Georgia-based minstrels, including: Juliana Finch, Wine Woman & Song, Joni Minstrel, Susan Hickey, and Three Quarter Ale.

Much ale was quaffed. Many barrels of wine consumed. Several mugs of grog were choked back. Some small amount of delicious port was sipped. Suffice to say that many grand hangovers were born that night and the event became pirate legend in short order. You should've been there, mate.

But it's not too late! Check the date! You may still have time to make it to the NEXT PiratePalooza™ Pubcrawl & Pubsing!!

A grand tradition of PiratePalooza™ is the annual limited-edition T-shirt, available for purchase at the final stop of each year's pubcrawl and now, for the first time, via PayPal! Jump over and take a look at the PiratePaloozaGear™ Section for a history of PiratePalooza™'s highly-prized form of bosom-clinging attire!
