We’ve kept it secret for as long as we could, but with less than a week before the Palooza, it’s time to announce the entertainment line-up for the 5th Annual PiratePalooza Pub Sing, scheduled to begin at 6:30pm, Saturday, September 19th, at the James Joyce Pub in Avondale Estates, Georgia.

The Brigadoon Bombshells – the evening’s entertainment will begin with this harmonious group of wenches with dangerous curves and hoppin’ harmonies!

Tenpenny Traveler – a stockpot full of sea chanties and authentic sailing songs will have your toes a-tapping!

Joni Minstrel – a legendary protest singer who’s always causing problems wherever she goes. No doubt she’ll be plotting a mutiny of this year’s Palooza if we’re not careful!

Syrens of the South – a wiggly, jiggly bunch of burlesque wenches to tempt you sea dogs what have been sailing too long.

The Lost Boys – these kilted lads in teal do make the women squeal, and it’s rumored that they invented Rock music.

Three Quarter Ale – straight from the Georgia Renaissance Festival, we are likely to experience this popular trio as a duo this year, as it’s rumored that Wicked Pete Speakeasy is afraid that Captain Drew will challenge him to another game of Salt Slug Foot.

Wine, Woman & Song – this group, led by your Pub Mistress Naughty Nellie Peachbottom, performs some great traditionals and will lead you into the final Pub Sing at the end of the night. Don’t miss it!

We’ve already lowered our skiff to the chop below and the men are climbing aboard… in less than two hours the city of Decatarrrr shall fall beneath our boots and steel and unending thirst for blood and rum. Beware lubbers, the PiratePalooza is UPON YOU, even now.

Remember, the Palooza Pubcrawl goes through Decatarrr again this year, but it ends at the James Joyce in Avondale Estates this time. If you happen to drop in upon the Comers over at The Grange do buy a drink, give ‘em our best then beat it quick out to Avondale for the Palooza!!

Shirts Ho!! This year’s silkscreened shirts really will be a “limited edition”, so pay attention and be ready to buy yours ASAP before someone else makes off with it! In case you’ve missed the announcemnt, this year’s shirts will be chocolate brown and will feature a broadside about this year’s PiratePalooza™ on the backside, placed there to cover your ugly hump, you great stinky bell-ringing sea rat!! (Forgive us if you actually do have any sort of hump-like anatomical feature as we’re quite sensitive pirates, honest). Returning again this year are sturdy all-cotton tees, the same shirt most of you ruffians and ruffianettes always demand. AND, I have something NEW for you especially trollopy lassies what are always begging the Captain to look at your yummy-yummy curves… this time around we’ll also offer true ladies-only shirts made in a clingy baby rib knit so that you can set your cannons on display. Every pirate knows that PiratePalooza™ is about music and the salty musicians what brings it to us. Whether it be long-hauls, sheet-drags, capstan shanties, stamp-n-go’s, pumpin’ or fo’c's’le shanties, you’ll find us singin’ about sailing, drinking and wenching. Now, without further adieu allow me to announce our line-up for the 2008 Pubcrawl!!

Wine, Woman, and Song – the very group of amazing singers what first introduced the Captain to these shanties. (Trivia: Naughty Nellie Peachbottom, the “woman” of WW&S, was one of the early co-conspirators of the Palooza itself!)

Tenpenny Travelers – the Travelers first climbed aboard the Palooza last year and were a genuine hit with our crew, with many demands that they return to us again!

Joni Minstrel – keep an eye on this clever little trouble-maker (and admittedly awesome entertainer), she’ll be sure to be plotting mutiny at some point in our voyage.

Ian O’Donnell – with us since the 2nd Palooza, this feller will have you tappin’ your toes and singin’ along in no time flat!

We’ll of course greatly miss The Lost Boys and Three Quarter Ale this year, but are buoyed by the fact that they’ve all become massively popular and cannot escape the (lucrative) bonds which will bind them during this year’s Palooza. We do hope they’ll speed back to us next year, itching for rum and rummy-tum-tums…. whatever the heck those are.

Look alive you sorry dogs, the seas are high and the Palooza is calling! It be only 10 days before we invade Decatarrrr and there be much to be done ahead of the invasion… like getting our T-shirts! This year we’ll be treatin’ ourselves to a fyne chocolate brown shirt to commemorate the glory that is PiratePalooza™. Prices will be announced just as soon as we know how much the shirts will cost us, and the shirts will be available on the day of the Palooza and also via PayPal, with UPS shipping. If you’ve missed a shirt from a previous year drop a line and we’ll check to see if there are any left (note: the very popular 2006 shirt with glow-in-the-dark ink is SOLD OUT in men’s XL size… heck, I only got ONE of them!!).™

Have you ever been to “that thing” what happens over in Decatarrrr every Septembarrr? That thing with the seafaring entrepreneurs and the pubs and the crawling and the concerts? You know, the birthday for the space pirate what be known around these parts as Captain Drew? Did you really like it all that much? Really?? Do you really feel that it be necessary to do it one more time? Do you really? Enough to send the Captain a picture of yourself running topless across a beach like Pamela Anderson (boobies v.1.0)?? That’s what I thought. Still, if any of this be making ANY sense to you…. then you might ought to hold Septembarrr the 20th open on your schedule. That’s: SEPTEMBARRRR the 20th!!!!! (mind that you keep it to yourselves unless you wants a load of scurvy lubbers to show up and gawp at you).
